I’m borrowing this book tag from the amazing @theshamefulnarcissist because 1) it looks fun, and 2) it doesn’t seem that time-consuming. Anyone who reads this and wants to do it is free!
In honor of International Women’s Day, I present a list (no particular order) of ten awesome women on the internet who inspire and encourage me.
So . . . it’s been a long while. Grad school has cut down on my blogging time a lot! However, I wanted to check in and present a list of some of the awesome books I had the pleasure of reading last year.
In no particular order, my top ten:
Haibane Renmei is a fairly obscure anime that I stumbled upon by happy chance. Despite the fact that I rarely watch anime these days, I was immediately intrigued by its unique premise. After a dream in which she is falling, a girl (Rakka) emerges from a cocoon and meets the Haibane, a group of angel-like people. Rakka is one of them; she grows wings, is given a halo, and remembers nothing of her life before her dream. As she settles into the peaceful life of the Haibane, she searches for answers about her existence; about the wall that surrounds the town, which she is forbidden to touch; and about her friend Reki’s troubled past.
Wings, amnesia, and redemption arcs are some of my favorite things, so of course I had to watch it.
For those of you who like Erutan/Katethegreat19, the Dragon Age: Inquisition soundtrack, Celtic music, and/or Mori fashion, this is a PSA. As some of you may know, Kate has faced difficulties with her vocal health for a few years now, but has generously continued to create instrumental music. She recently created a spin-off channel, a sampling of which can be heard below.
If it’s up your alley, I hope you’ll give it a listen! Kate hopes to create a full album of these Dragon Age covers, so there should be more goodness to come. These have been helping to keep me sane during this busy semester, so I figured I should share the beauty. ^_^
